Norfolk State redshirt senior Chanette Hicks was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Coppin State’s Marley Grenway earned Rookie of the Week honors, while
Hicks also earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Hicks (G, 5-6, r-Sr., Norfolk, Va.) averaged 22.5 points, 8.5 steals, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Spartans as they won both games of the JU Classic, going a combined 17-for-39 (.436) from the floor and 10-for-13 (.769) from the free throw line. In an overtime win over Jacksonville, he dropped 30 points on 11-for-24 shooting, while also grabbing 10 steals for the double-double and pulling down six boards. Against North Florida, she had 15 points and seven steals.
Grenway (G, 5-8, Fr., Jessup, Md.) dropped nine points against George Washington, hitting three of her five 3-pointers. In two games, she was a combined 4-for-7 (.571) from behind the arc, and she opened the week with five points against La Salle. For the week, Grenway was a combined 4-for-9 (.444) from the floor.

Daniella Hatcher (B-CU) had 15 points in a win over Charleston Southern, then dropped 11 points and grabbed six rebounds against Troy.
Tatum Hayes (B-CU) had six points on two 3-pointers against Charleston Southern.
Ashanti Hunt (B-CU) had seven rebounds against Troy and three steals against Charleston Southern.
Chance Graham (CSU) recorded a double-double (10 points, 16 rebounds) against La Salle.
Jayla Thornton (HOW) dropped 21 points and grabbed four rebounds against Washington.
Jayla Jones-Pack (NCAT) blocked seven shots in a win over Morehead State.
Deja Winters (NCAT) dropped 19 points against Morehead State on 8-for-12 shooting, hitting three 3-pointers.
