NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 24, 2019—
Howard senior Ayonna Williams was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Coppin State’s Alexandria Hamilton was named Rookie of the Week, while
Howard senior Imani Bryant earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Williams (G, 5-4, Sr., Washington, D.C.) dropped a season-high 28 points – 17 of which came in the fourth quarter – of the Bison’s 86-75 win at George Mason this past Saturday. On top of going 9-for-15 (.600) from the floor, Williams hit all three of her 3-pointers and seven of her eight free throws, while also grabbing five rebounds and dishing out three assists.
Hamilton (G, 5-7, Fr., Columbus, Ohio) had 11 points, eight assists, three rebounds and three steals in Coppin State’s loss to Niagara this past Tuesday. She hit four field goals and made three of her five free throw attempts.
Bryant (F, 6-1, Sr., Berkeley, Calif.) grabbed seven rebounds – six on the defensive end – against George Mason, while also blocking three shots and coming away with three steals.

Tatum Hayes (B-CU) scored six points at Alabama.
Ashanti Hunt (B-CU) had three steals against Alabama.
Ciara Thompson (B-CU) recorded a double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) against Stetson.
Aliyah Lawson (CSU) had five rebounds and a pair of steals against Niagara.
Oluwadamilola Oloyede (CSU) scored a career-high 18 points against Niagara.
Lyric Turner (DSU) scored 15 points against Boston College and 13 against James Madison.
Chelsea Mitchell (MSU) dropped 16 points to go along with nine rebounds and five steals against Texas State.
C’coriea Foy (NCAT) recorded a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) at Clemson.
Alexus Lessears (NCAT) grabbed 11 rebounds at Clemson, to go along with a block and a steal.
Paulina Afriyie (NCCU) had 20 points and 11 rebounds against Washington Adventist.
Chanette Hicks (NSU) dropped 23 points against Robert Morris, before turning in 16 points, six rebounds and four steals against William & Mary.
Cam Platt-Morris (NSU) had 11 points against Robert Morris.
