Bethune-Cookman 61, AppalachianState 44

DeLAND, Fla. --
Camary Harris scored 13 points as Bethune-Cookman gave head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis her 300th career coaching victory with a 61-44 victory in the Hatter Classic Thursday afternoon.

In her 12th season at B-CU and 21st overall, Blair-Lewis has led the Lady Wildcats to three Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) regular season championships, three WNIT appearances, the 2019 MEAC tournament championship and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance against Notre Dame earlier this year.

Harris, a sophomore, led a balanced scoring effort to complement a defense that held Appalachian State to 27.8 percent field goal shooting – the lowest for any opponent this season. ASU's 44 points were the second-lowest for an opponent and marked the fourth time the Lady Wildcats (7-3) held a team under 50 points.

After seeing an early 9-3 lead turn into a 15-11 deficit, BCU used a 9-0 run to take a 20-15 lead on Harris' three-pointer with 4:49 remaining in the first half. ASU tied it at 20, but Harris, Ciara Thompson, Tania White and Armani Walker combined on a 7-0 run that gave B-CU a 27-20 halftime lead.
