NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 17, 2019 —
Senior guard John Crosby of Delaware State University has been tabbed as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s (MEAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for a second straight week, it was announced today. Joining Crosby on the conference’s weekly honor roll is
junior guard/forward Koby Thomas of Coppin State University, who is the Defensive Players of the Week for a second straight week, along with
freshman guard Fred Cleveland Jr. of North Carolina A&T State University, who is the Rookie of the Week.
Crosby (G, 6-3, Jr., Baltimore, Md.) scored 30 points on 11-for-22 shooting from the floor (50%), 3-for-5 shooting from three-point range (60%) and 5-for-6 shooting from the free throw line (83.3%). The Baltimore, Md. native added eight rebounds and one assist in his team’s eight-point loss to Delaware.
Thomas (G/F, 6-6, Jr., Philadelphia, Pa.) collected a pair of double-doubles as the Eagles fell to Davidson and UMBC. He had 12 points and 12 rebounds in the Davidson contest and then had 10 points and 10 rebounds against UMBC. He also had one blocked shot and one steal against UMBC.
Cleveland (G, 5-10, Fr., Chicago, Ill.) scored 14 points in the Aggies’ 72-54 loss to Texas-El Paso. He added three rebounds, one assist and one steal in that game.

Kamar McKnight (CSU) averaged 20 points over two games played during the week, including 23 points in a loss to UMBC and 17 points in a loss to Davidson.
Evins Desir (FAMU) scored 15 points on 7-for-14 shooting in a six-point loss to Portland. He also had eight boards in the game.
Stanley Davis (MSU) had 14 points and four rebounds in an 85-68 loss at La Salle before bouncing back with 28 points and 11 rebounds in a 96-72 win over Chestnut Hill.
Ronald Jackson (NCAT) scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 72-54 loss to Texas-El Paso.
Jibri Blount (NCCU) averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a week that saw the Eagles defeat Christendom before falling to Coastal Carolina. He had a 31-point, 12-rebound double-double against Christendom followed by a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double against Coastal Carolina.
Devante Carter (NSU) garnered 12 points with eight boards, four assists and two steals in a 64-45 loss to Loyola-Chicago.
