Miajah Bullock led three Hornets in double figures on Saturday with 15 points, going 4-for-7 from the floor and hitting all five of her free throws as Delaware State defeated Post University 67-41 for its first win of the season.

Janayjha Ashe added 13 points, while Sharajah Collins added 10 points. Zoe Holmes was the top rebounder for the Hornets, grabbing 10 boards.

Howard 72, UMBC 61

BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
Howard earned its first win of the season after taking down UMBC 72-61 on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Bison moved to 1-1 overall, while the Retrievers dropped to 1-1 on the season.
 
Third-year sharpshooter Jayla Thornton led all scorers with 20 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field.

North Carolina A&T State 121, Johnson & Wales 61

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- 
North Carolina A&T State never trailed against Johnson & Wales as seven Aggies scored double figures in a 121-61 win over the Wildcats at Corbett Sports Center Saturday.

Junior forward Deja Winters and senior guard C’coriea Foy each led the team with 19 points apiece. Junior Jayla Jones-Pack and sophomore guard Jasmen Walton each added 18 points and senior center Alexus Lessears added 14 points.

South Carolina State 81, Charleston Southern 75

CHARLESTON, S.C. --
Taylor Brown had 19 points, 15 rebounds and four assists, recording her first double-double of the season as South Carolina State nabbed its first win of 2019-20, defeating Charleston Southern 81-75 in overtime.

Heniaya Moton led the way for the Bulldogs, dropping 31 points and hitting seven 3-pointers.

Jacquece Alston added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Rutgers 107, Coppin State 33

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- 
Coppin State dropped its season opener 107-33 to perennial power Rutgers University on Saturday afternoon at the RAC.

Oluwadamilola Oloyede led Coppin State with eight points on 4-for-5 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, while Aliyah Lawson added seven points, three rebounds and two assists.

Jacksonville State 70, Florida A&M 66

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- 
Florida A&M lost a heartbreaking 70-66 decision to Jacksonville State at the Pete Matthews Colisieum Saturday afternoon.

FAMU (0-2) rode an 18-10 second quarter scoring flurry to take a 33-32 halftime lead, led by six points from Keziah Dilworth and four points from Alaina Rice.

Alaina Rice led FAMU with 14 points, followed by Dilworth with 12 points and seven rebounds. The trio of Keilya Jackson, Corey Staples and Jasmine Ballew each scored eight points, with Staples splashing a pair of 3-pointers in six tries, while Jackson added five rebounds.

Marshall 75, Norfolk State 69

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- 
The Thundering Herd of Marshall had a big first quarter, which turned out to be just enough to hold off the Spartans in a 75-69 loss for Norfolk State on Saturday afternoon on Cam Henderson Center.

Chanette Hicks led Norfolk State in multiple statistical categories, finishing with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Blaire Thomas also had a big game for the Spartans, close to getting a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

She was 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

William & Mary 78, Maryland Eastern Shore 50

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. --
Bairesha Gill-Miles led Maryland Eastern Shore with 17 points, to go along with five rebounds and four steals, but the Hawks fell 78-50 to William & Mary Saturday evening in Kaplan Arena.

Gill-Miles was 8-for-16 from the floor. Amanda Carney came off the bench to drop 11 points and grab a team-high nine rebounds.
