Week 10: MEAC Fans' Play and Players of the Week

The fans have made their voices heard for the sixth time in 2019, and they decided that South Carolina State's De'Montrez Burroughs turned in the Play of the Week for Week 8. The fans also selected South Carolina State quarterback Corey Fields and Norfolk State defensive back Devyn Coles as their Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Burroughs received over 82 percent of the vote for his play. In the opening minute of the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs were down 22-10 and near midfield. With the ball on the Aggies' 49-yard line, Fields dropped back from shotgun as Burroughs broke at the line and shook a defender.

Fields' pass was placed perfectly, just out of the reach of the double team surrounding Burroughs -- who caught the ball in stride at the 9-yard line and carried both defenders from about the 3-yard line into the endzone.

That play cut North Carolina A&T State's lead to 22-17.

Fields completed 14 passes for 284 yards and a score in the Bulldogs' 22-20 loss to North Carolina A&T State this past Saturday.

Coles picked off a pair of passes and had four tackles this past Saturday in helping Norfolk State upend Morgan State 48-0 for Homecoming. It was the Spartans' first shutout win since 2012.
