NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 5, 2019—
North Carolina A&T State junior Ana Olaya was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Norfolk State’s Megan Wheat was named Rookie of the Week.
Olaya (Jr., Bogota, Colombia) averaged 209 pins in traditional play at the Track Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State – a tournament that featured five of the top six teams in the nation. She placed in seventh, led the Aggies to a fifth-place team finish and had three games of better than 225 – including a season-best 235.
Wheat (Fr., Chesapeake, Va.) led the Spartans as they opened the season in the Virginia Union Invitational, averaging 173.8 pins over five games in traditional play. Her high for the weekend was 211, and Wheat’s performance helped Norfolk State open the campaign with five wins.

Raja Anderson (CSU) averaged 168.4 pins at the Virginia Union Invitational.
Kaylah Castillo (CSU) was named All-Tournament at the Virginia Union Invitational with a 189.3 average in traditional play.
Tea Lewis (HOW) averaged 189.4 pins in traditional play at the Virginia Union Invitational, earning All-Tournament honors.
