MEAC TO PRESENT 2019 OFFENSIVE, DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR IN NEW YORK

 NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 26, 2019 -- For the fourth straight year, the National Football Foundation (NFF) is partnering with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) to reveal the league's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year as part of the events surrounding the NFF Annual Awards Dinner.
 
MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas will make the announcement at the beginning of the media availability on Tuesday at The Trianon Ballroom (Third Floor) at the New York Hilton Midtown, 1335 6th Ave, New York, NY 10019, and he will be joined by the recipients.
 
The announcement will be made at 9:30 a.m. and will be streamed through the NFF’s website at www.footballfoundation.org.
 
Presented annually since 1971, the MEAC Players of the Year awards are voted on by the MEAC head football coaches and sports information directors.

2019 NFF NATIONAL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE CLASS PRESENTED BY FIDELITY INVESTMENTS & FINALISTS FOR THE CAMPBELL TROPHY® PRESENTED BY MAZDA:
The winner of The William V. Campbell Trophy® Presented by Mazda will be announced live between 8:40 and 9:00 p.m. during the Dinner ceremony feed. The finalists, comprised of the 2019 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class, presented by Fidelity Investments, include Spencer Blackburn (Eastern Washington), Rodrigo Blankenship (Georgia), Jordan Fuller (Ohio State), Alex Goettl (Minnesota State), Justin Herbert (Oregon), Adam Holtorf (Kansas State), Michael Lohmeier (Carnegie Mellon [PA]), Jordan Mack (Virginia), Dante Olson (Montana), Jelani Taylor (Cornell), Casey Toohill (Stanford) and Jon Wassink (Western Michigan). 2019 NFF MAJOR AWARD RECIPIENTS:
The presentations of the NFF Major Awards will also take place during the Dinner ceremony and can be captured via the satellite feed. The 2019 NFF Major Award recipients include celebrated actor and former UCLA quarterback Mark Harmon (NFF Gold Medal); University of Alabama broadcaster Eli Gold (NFF Chris Schenkel Award for excellence in broadcasting); retired NC State University Director of Athletics Deborah Yow (NFF John L. Toner Award for excellence in athletics administration); and National Coordinator of College Football Officiating (CFO) Rogers Redding (NFF Legacy Award).
