University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) senior Taylor Russell was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Coppin State’s Raja Anderson was named Rookie of the Week.
Russell (Sr., Tupelo, Miss.) made the All-Tournament Team at the Vern Stallings Aggie Invitational as the highest-finishing MEAC bowler in the individual standings, coming in fourth with a pinfall average of 217.83. Of her six traditional games, Russell broke the 200-pin mark – including a 266, which is the third-highest single-game mark in the conference this season.
Anderson (Fr., Stafford, Va.) bowled a single-game high of 222 against Prairie View A&M in traditional play at the Vern Stallings Aggie Invitational, and over the course of six games, she averaged 179.67 pins to finish 35
th in the individual standings.

Samantha Ford (B-CU) came in seventh at the Hornet Classic with a pinfall average of 183.0.
Aushia McLean (CSU) bowled a 192 in the Eagles’ upset of No. 13 Lincoln Memorial and averaged 180.2 pins in traditional play at the Vern Stallings Aggie Invitational.
Alexis Neuer (DSU) averaged 205.5 pins in traditional play at the Vern Stallings Aggie Invite, breaking the 200-pin mark three times.
Keondra Eaton (FAMU) averaged 186.6 pins in traditional play at the Hornet Classic, coming in sixth as the Lady Rattlers came in second in the tournament.
Carolyn Williams (HOW) came in ninth in the Vern Stallings Aggie Invitational and bowled a 267, the second-highest single game in the MEAC this season.
Mia Pope (NCAT) came in fifth at the Vern Stallings Aggie Invitational, averaging 215.83 pins in traditional play and recording four games of at least 200 pins.
Chloe Skurzynski (UMES) averaged 209 pins in traditional play in the Vern Stallings Aggie Invitational, bowling a weekend high of 233.
