DOVER, Del. -- 
Delaware State defeated the Georgian Court Lions 69-48 at Memorial Hall on Saturday night. Reserve forward Melissa Sam led the team with 16 points, eight rebounds and one steal in just 19 minutes of action. Delaware State has now won its last three contests and improves to 3-1 so far this season.

The Lady Hornets started the contest with a 9-4 run, that started with a Sharajah Collins three and was capped off by a Miajah Bullock layup with 7:33 left the first quarter. Delaware State led 16-9 after the first ten minutes of play.

DSU trailed only once at 2-0 and led the rest of the game.

Taylor Brown dropped a season-high 24 points on 8-for-19 shooting, hitting eight free throws and grabbing five rebounds and three steals on Saturday, but it wasn't enough in an 84-46 loss to UNC Wilmington in Trask Colisuem.
