EARLYSVILLE, Va. – The Norfolk State men's cross country team wrapped up its 2019 season by competing at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday morning hosted by the University of Virginia.
The Spartans had just three runners finish the race and thus did not factor into the team standings. Norfolk State was led by MEAC champion Meshack Kipchirchir, who finished 56th out of a field 214 runners. Kipchirchir finished the 10,000-meter course in 31 minutes, 22.6 seconds.
Freshman Evans Cheruiyot placed 77th in 31:51.7 and sophomore Lelei Too was 96th in 32:06.9.
The Spartans captured their MEAC-record 13th men's cross country title last month and will now turn their sights to indoor track & field season, which begins in early December.
