MEAC Announces Weekly Cross Country Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 9, 2019Bethune-Cookman sophomore Carlin Berryhill was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today. North Carolina A&T State senior G’Jasmyne Butler was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Berryhill (So., Miami, Fla.) delivered a first-place finish at the USF Invitational this past weekend. The 2018 MEAC cross country individual champion clocked a 5K time of 16:04.91, outdistancing unattached runner Jonathan Werble by 13 seconds.
 
Butler (Sr., Raleigh, N.C.) won her second consecutive individual gold at the HBCU Challenge this past Saturday, as she posted a 5K time of 18:55.2. She was just three seconds off her personal best and won the race by eight seconds. Her time Is currently third-fastest in the MEAC at 5K this season.
 
Other Top Performers
Brittany Gill (B-CU) was 17th at the USF Invitational with a 5K time of 21:14.01.
 
Infinnatie Rowe (MSU) was Morgan State’s top finisher at the HBCU Challenge, placing fourth with a time of 19:12.5.
 
Regan Kimtai (NCAT) led the Aggies with a second-place finish with an 8K time of 28:32.1 at the HBCU Challenge.
 
Tyler Duncan (SCSU) was seventh at the Charleston Classic with an 8K time of 27:27.1.
