MEAC Volleyball: Match of the Unbeatens Highlights This Weekend

2019 MEAC Volleyball Statistics | MEAC Weekly Volleyball Notes

This weekend's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) volleyball slate will feature a rematch of last season's championship match -- and as of now, both Howard and North Carolina A&T State are undefeated in conference play and atop their respective divisions.

In the Northern Division, Howard is 7-0, clear of second-place Coppin State and third-place Morgan State. Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State are tied for the fourth spot -- which would be the spot to qualify a team for the MEAC Volleyball Championship (Nov. 22-24 in Washington, D.C.).

In the Southern Division, the Aggies have won eight straight and sit at 8-0 -- four matches clear of second-place North Carolina Central. Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State follow, with Florida A&M ineligible for the title.

After this past weekend's action, the Aggies' Edie Brewer (she of six triple-doubles this season) and the Lady Bears' Zoe McBride were the MEAC Co-Players of the Week. North Carolina Central's Alyssa Pieh was strong on the back row and in the service game in picking up Rookie of the Week honors.

Morgan State's Jennevy Santos and Roi Wallace were named Defensive Specialist and Setter of the Week, respectively.
