2019-20 MEAC Bowling Statistics | MEAC Weekly Bowling Notes
The third week of the 2019-20 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) bowling season will see just three teams in action, in contrast to this past weekend in which seven of the league's 11 programs were on the lanes.
This past weekend saw MEAC preseason favorite Maryland Eastern Shore, No. 7 in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) preseason poll, finish third in the Sugar Bowl Invite, while No. 8 North Carolina A&T State was fifth and No. 19 UAB come in sixth.
No. 15 Delaware State finished fourth in the Mount St. Mary's Shootout, a tournament in which Coppin State, Howard and Morgan State also competed.
Maryland Eastern Shore swept the first MEAC weekly honors of the season, with sophomore Chloe Skurzynski being named Bowler of the Week and Alejandra Amezcua taking Rookie of the Week honors.
Skurzynski leads the MEAC with a 268 that she bowled this past weekend, and Amezcua is fourth with a 235.
This weekend, the Hawks -- who sit at 10-3 -- will be at the Caldwell Cougar Classic. Monmouth, No. 25 in the NTCA preseason poll, will also compete at Caldwell, while UAB will be in the BearCat Hammer Open.
