The fans have made their voices heard for the fourth time in 2019, and they decided that Delaware State's Corahn Alleyne turned in the Play of the Week for Week 8. The fans also selected South Carolina State running back LaBron Morris and Morgan State linebacker Rico Kennedy as their Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
With 9:35 left in the second quarter and the Hornets on their own 28, Alleyne sprinted down the left side of the field on the snap, and quarterback Tylik Bethea threw the ball clear to the opposing 30-yard line. Alleyne, behind the defender, caught the pass in stride and ran into the endzone.
Seventy-two yards later, the game was tied at 14-14.
Morris had 125 rushing yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-10 win over Morgan State, which not only put a positive end to Homecoming, but gave head coach Buddy Pough his 129th career win, surpassing Willie Jeffries as the program's all-time winningest coach.
Kennedy racked up 12 tackles -- including nine solo stops -- in that same game, giving him 68 tackles for the season.
