STAMFORD, Conn. – Former North Carolina Central defensive back C.J. Moore was selected by the Los Angeles Wildcats in the XFL Draft on Wednesday.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Moore finished his NCCU tenure from 2011-15 with 301 tackles to rank third on the school's career tackles list, while adding 21.0 stops for a loss, 23 passes defended (18 pass break-ups, 5 interceptions), five fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, three blocked kicks and four touchdowns.
As a senior in 2015, Moore earned All-MEAC First Team honors as the third-leading tackler in the conference with 100 takedowns. The Team MVP was announced to the BOXTOROW (HBCU) All-America Team, HBCU Gameday FCS All-American Team and the Black College Sports Page "Baad Team" of Black College All-Americans (First Team).
The Southeast High School product
signed a free agent contract with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in May 2016, a week after graduating from NCCU with a bachelor's degree in recreation administration with a concentration in sports management and a minor in business.
The XFL season begins in February 2020.
