MEAC Announces Weekly Cross Country Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 16, 2019Howard sophomore Gavin Williams was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today. Coppin State senior Tatiana Ogundeko was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Williams (So., Dover, Del.) won his second race of the season at the Delaware State Alumni Run this past weekend. With a 17:12.1 over the 8K course, he helped Howard to a second-place finish in the team standings.
 
Ogundeko (Sr., Waldorf, Md.) won the Delaware State Alumni Run in 19:18.2, which is her best time ever on the 5K course at the Delaware State Outreach & Research Center – and her second-fastest time so far this season. It also marked her second win of 2019.
 
Other Top Performers
Randy Serville (CSU) clocked a personal-best 30:18.6 to finish ninth at the Delaware State Alumni Run.
 
Melanie White (HOW) finished second at the Delaware State Alumni Run with a 19:43.9.
 
Nahom Ftwi (UMES) finished second at the Delaware State Alumni Run, pacing a group of Hawks that finished second, third and fourth.
 
Asshani Robb (UMES) finished fourth at the Delaware State Alumni Run with a time of 20:07.7.
