NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 22, 2019—North Carolina A&T State junior C’coriea Foy was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week presented by the U.S. Marines, the conference office announced today.
Howard’s Krislyn Marsh earned Rookie of the Week honors, while
North Carolina Central junior Paulina Afriyie was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Foy (6-0, G, Jr., Fayetteville, N.C.) averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the Aggies this past week, shooting a combined 15-for-35 (.429) from the floor. After racking up 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a win over Morgan State, Foy had a 25-point, five-assist, two-steal effort against Coppin State – a game in which she hit 10 field goals and four 3-pointers.
Marsh (6-0, F, Fr., Duncanville, Texas) dropped a team-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds on Saturday at South Carolina State, a game in which she went 6-for-14 from the floor. It marked her 10th double-digit scoring effort of the season and her fifth in the last seven games.
Afriyie (5-11, F, Jr., Bronx, N.Y.) averaged 14.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per contest this past week. Of the 28 rebounds she recorded in two games, 18 of them came on the defensive end. Against Morgan State, she grabbed 17 rebounds – 11 defensive – while blocking two shots. In the Coppin State contest, she had 11 rebounds (seven on defense) to go along with two steals and a blocked shot.

Chasimmie Brown (B-CU) grabbed 19 rebounds against Maryland Eastern Shore to go along with 22 points.
Angel Golden (B-CU) dropped 27 points in a win over Delaware State.
Camary Harris (B-CU) had 12 points against Delaware State.
Chance Graham (CSU) had 16 points and 11 rebounds at North Carolina Central.
Jalynda Salley (CSU) recorded her second career double-double against North Carolina A&T State with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
NaJai Pollard (DSU) had 22 points and 13 rebounds against Florida A&M.
Mya Moye (FAMU) dropped 10 points against Delaware State.
Dy’Manee Royal (FAMU) recorded a double-double against Delaware State with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Ciani Byrom (MDES) dropped 23 points in a win over Bethune-Cookman.
Adre’onia Coleman (MSU) had 21 points and 12 rebounds against North Carolina Central.
Ashia McCalla (MSU) recorded 12 points and seven rebounds against North Carolina Central.
Taya Jones (NCAT) had 14 points on 5-for-12 shooting against Coppin State.
