NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 2, 2019—Delaware State senior NaJai Pollard was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
North Carolina A&T State’s Rayven Peeples earned Rookie of the Week honors, while
Pollard was also named Defensive Player of the Week.
Pollard (5-11, F, Sr., Richmond, Va.) averaged 27.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.5 blocked shots per game this past week, and she had another monster game against Marshall. In that contest, she went 11-for-21 from the floor and notched her fourth 30-point game of the season – to go along with 14 rebounds for her fifth double-double and four blocks. She followed that up two days later with a 24-point, six-rebound, five-block effort against VCU.
Peeples (6-2, F, Fr., Detroit, Mich.) nearly averaged a double-double this past week with 8.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest. She opened the week with 13 points against Florida Atlantic, going 6-for-8 from the floor and adding eight rebounds. She then grabbed 12 rebounds – six each on the offensive and defensive ends – against Yale, while also recording four steals.

Kiana Williams (B-CU) had 12 points and six boards against Charlotte.
Tsahai Corbie (CSU) dished out three assists against Old Dominion.

Chance Graham (CSU) grabbed eight rebounds against Old Dominion.
Mya Moye (FAMU) dropped 18 points and hit three 3-pointers at Miami.
Candice Williams (FAMU) was named All-Tournament in Miami after a 13-point, three-assist effort against the Hurricanes.
Sarah Edmond (HOW) had 16 points, six assists and three steals against North Carolina.
Krislyn Marsh (HOW) went 6-for-7 from the floor against North Carolina, recording 12 points and nine boards.
Adre’onia Coleman (MSU) had 21 points and 15 rebounds against UMass Lowell.
Ashia McCalla (MSU) had 15 points and five rebounds against UMass Lowell.
Cinia McCray (NCAT) scored 26 points against Florida Atlantic and 21 against Yale.
Kendrea Dawkins (NSU) had 16 points and four rebounds against Wake Forest.
La’Deja James (NSU) recorded 15 points and four rebounds against Wake Forest.
Taylor Brown (SCSU) had 21 points and nine rebounds, going 9-for-16 from the floor, at Western Carolina.
