NORFOLK, Va., Sept. 26, 2018—Florida A&M junior David Too was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Florida A&M junior Emmax Kiplagat was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Too (Jr., Eldoret, Kenya) won individual gold in the Mountain Dew Gator Invitational hosted by the University of Florida on Saturday, and his effort helped Florida A&M claim the team title in that meet for the first time in program history. He completed the 8K course in 24:11.58, besting his MEAC-best time at that distance by more than 10 seconds.
Kiplagat (Jr., Eldoret, Kenya) paced the Lady Rattlers to a fourth-place finish in the Mountain Dew Gator Invitational this past weekend, finishing fifth with a time of 17:12.74 on the 5K course. She shaved almost a full minute off her best time this season.
Other Top Performers
Tariq Fullerton (HOW) came in third at the UMES Invitational after turning in a 27:15.20 over 8K.
Destiny Stanford (HOW) secured a runner-up finish at the UMES Invitational, completing the 5K course in 19:07.70.
John Akakeya (MDES) ran a 27:29.60 to finish fourth in the UMES Invitational.
Neus Quinonero (MDES) came in ninth in the UMES Invitational after running a 20:03.10 over 5K.
Infinnatie Rowe (MSU) came in seventh at the UMES Invitational, completing the 5K course in 19:53.20.
