Morgan State, fresh off its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women’s tennis championship since 1994, will head to Chapel Hill, N.C. on Friday, May 11 to take on North Carolina, the No. 2 overall seed, in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships.
The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
The Lady Bears (12-12) won the MEAC title, and NCAA automatic bid, this past Saturday with a 4-1 win over Hampton in the championship match.
The Morgan State-North Carolina match will follow the match between Mississippi State and William & Mary. The two winners will square off in the second round on Saturday, May 12, at 3 p.m.
From there, the team that wins will advance to the finals site in Winston-Salem, N.C.
