Aggies, Hawks to Meet for MEAC Bowling Championship

Bracket

CHESAPEAKE, Va., March 24, 2018 –
Following Saturday’s bracket play in the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championships, North Carolina A&T State and Maryland Eastern Shore advanced to Sunday’s championship final at the AMF Chesapeake Lanes.

In what is a rematch of last year’s championship final, both teams will fight for the MEAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.

The Aggies, the top seed, dropped their opening match against Norfolk State, 4-1, before rebounding with a 4-0 win over Florida A&M. From there, NCAT picked up a pair of wins over the Spartans, winning 4-0 and 4-2 to advance to the final.

Maryland Eastern Shore had the tougher road, beginning with an early-morning match against Morgan State. Despite being the No. 6 seed, Morgan State pushed the Hawks a full seven games before falling 4-3.

From there, the Hawks faced Northern Division regular-season champion, and No. 2 seed, Delaware State. The Hornets won 4-2, knocking Eastern Shore to the loser’s bracket. The Hawks eliminated Morgan State 4-0, setting up a rematch with Delaware State.

The Hawks stayed alive with a 4-1 win over the Hornets, before winning again 4-2 to advance.

Sunday’s final will be broadcast live on ESPN3, and then on ESPNU via rebroadcast on Sunday, April 1 at 9 p.m.
