NORFOLK, Va., March 20, 2018—Delaware State senior Elizabeth Burkholder was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Burkholder (Sr., Lancaster, Pa.) was the top MEAC individual at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt this past weekend, finishing 11th among 207 bowlers. She averaged 205.4 pins in traditional team play, eclipsing the 200-pin mark three times – including a weekend-best 237 against Lincoln Memorial and 222 against Wisconsin-Whitewater. Burkholder’s performance helped Delaware State finish 12th in the 32-team field.
Other Top Performers
Carolyn Williams (HOW) averaged 196.2 pins in the Music City Classic, bowling a 217 against Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Danielle August (MDES) averaged 199.6 pins at the Music City Classic, including a weekend-best 224.
Cameron Strombeck (NCAT) was 14th in the Music City Classic after averaging 203.6 pins in traditional team play.
