Delaware State Leads Four MEAC Teams in Latest NTCA Poll

Feb. 2018 NTCA Top 25 Poll

Delaware State has held on to the No. 6 spot in the latest national Top 25 poll of women’s college bowling teams, as released by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA). The only teams ahead of the Hornets are No. 1 Nebraska, defending national champ McKendree, Arkansas State, Vanderbilt and Sam Houston State.

Delaware State is also tops among four Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) teams in the February poll. MEAC members Maryland Eastern Shore (No. 8), North Carolina A&T State (No. 17) and Norfolk State (No. 21) also appear in the latest rankings.

The latest poll position matches the Hornets' highest since holding the No. 3 spot in February 2010 poll, the best showing in team history. That season, the Hornets won their second straight MEAC championship and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.

The Delaware State bowling team returns to action in the final MEAC Northern Division competition of the 2017-18 season on Feb. 24-25 in Washington, D.C. The Hornets currently hold a two-game lead in the division standings.
