MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 27, 2018Florida A&M sophomore Monique Ragland was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
 
Ragland (So., Flint, Mich.) posted the top individual average at the MEAC Southern Divisional meet this past weekend in Greensboro, N.C., averaging 212.67 pins in traditional play to help Florida A&M finish second in the tournament. She bowled a season-best 232 against Norfolk State, and her 227 against North Carolina A&T State helped the Lady Rattlers defeat the Southern Division champion Aggies.
 
Other Top Performers
Chelsey Merklinger (DSU) averaged 190.0 pins in traditional play and bowled a 216 against Morgan State.
 
Carolyn Williams (HOW) bowled a weekend-best 204 against Morgan State as Howard went 6-2 in the MEAC Northern Divisional meet.
 
Cayla Hicks (MDES) posted the fourth-best individual average of the MEAC Northern Divisional meet at 182.0.
 
Diamond Hunter (MSU) bowled a weekend-best 202 and was ninth in individual average in the Northern Divisional meet.
 
Ana Oyala (NCAT) bowled a weekend-best 234 and had the Southern Divisional meet’s second-highest pinfall average at 211.67.
 
Alexa Rodriguez (NSU) twice broke the 200-pin mark, rolling a 224 against North Carolina A&T State and a 212 against Florida A&M.
