WASHINGTON (HUBison.com) – Today Howard University accepted the resignation of head coach Michael London after two seasons at the helm of the Howard University football team.
Coach London joined Howard as head coach in 2017. He led a team which had won three (3) games the previous two years, immediately turning the team around to complete a 7-4 record during his first season. This included a 6-2 record in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference competition.
On Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 the Bison pulled off what many considered the greatest upset in college football history beating UNLV 43-40. In year two, HU finished with a 4-3 record in conference play and a 4-6 record overall.
"In addition to the strides we made on the field, Coach London instilled a culture of integrity, family, and accountability on and off the field," stated Howard University Director of Athletics
Kery Davis. "His motto of 'go to class, show class and treat people with dignity and respect,' resonated throughout the entire Athletic Department. We wish him well in his future endeavors."
The Howard University Department of Athletics will begin a national search immediately.
