MEAC Football Week 11 Fans' Choice Play and Players of the Week

Watch Video

Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) fans have again spoken, and their choices for Play of the Week and Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week have been announced. Norfolk State's Marcus Taylor had the best play of the week, according to the fans, while they also tabbed South Carolina State quarterback Tyrece Nick as the Offensive Player of the Week and North Carolina A&T State defensive end Daryl Johnson as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Taylor had a hand in sealing the Spartans' 29-17 victory over Howard this past Saturday at Dick Price Stadium. With less than five minutes remaining, Norfolk State had the ball and a 21-17 lead. Quarterback Juwan Carter took the snap out of pistol formation, rolled to his right and tossed the ball to Taylor along the sideline.

The wideout spun out of a tackle almost as soon as he caught the ball before sprinting down the sideline, 37 yards into the endzone -- where he had reservations for six.

Nick had 228 yards of offense in the Bulldogs' 44-21 win over Florida A&M this past Saturday. He had 138 yards on the ground and found the endzone three times in the non-conference win.

Johnson racked up eight tackles, 3.5 for loss, and a sack in the Aggies' 28-12 win at Savannah State.
