NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 17, 2018—Florida A&M junior David Too was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Norfolk State junior Martha Bissah was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Too (Jr., Eldoret, Kenya) won the UAB Blazers Classic this past week, his third such title this season, turning in a weekend- and MEAC-best 23:57.0 over the 8K course. He topped his previous best this season by nearly 15 seconds, and Too is the first MEAC runner to break the 24-minute barrier on the season.
Bissah (Jr., Accra, Ghana) won her third individual title of the 2018 campaign by taking gold at the East Carolina Pirates Invitational, completing the 6K course in a personal-best 20:51.70. She led the Spartans to a third-place finish in the team standings and turned in the best 6K time in the MEAC this season.

Deja Davis (B-CU) came in eighth at the South Florida Invitational after running an 18:58.30.
Daniel Kiptoo (B-CU) was runner-up in the South Florida Invitational with a time of 26:43.10.
Anija Addison (CSU) ran a 32:33.50 at the Delaware State Alumni Run to pace the Eagles.
Tatiana Ogundeko (CSU) came in seventh with a 20:36.70 at the Delaware State Alumni Run.
Shalet Mitei (FAMU) completed the 6K course at the UAB Blazers Classic in 21:34.70 to finish 11th.
John Akakeya (MDES) ran a 27:55.40 at the Delaware State Alumni Run for his first event win of the season.
Mercy Chemutai (MDES) won her third event title, running a 19:14.10 at the Delaware State Alumni Run.
Infinnatie Rowe (MSU) came in second at the Delaware State Alumni Run, turning in a time of 19:44.40 over 5K.
G’Jasmyne Butler (NCAT) ran an 18:56.19 at the High Point VertCross meet to pace the Aggies.
Morris Kimble (NCAT) came in 22nd at High Point with a 26:33.52.
Festus Bett (NSU) paced the Spartans at East Carolina with a 25:55.40.
Sahlu Atakilti (SSU) won the Georgia Southern meet with an 8K time of 26:21.20.
