NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 10, 2018—Florida A&M sophomore Jacob Nkamasiai was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Florida A&M junior Shalet Mitei was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Nkamasiai (So., Eldoret, Kenya) led the Rattlers to their third event title of the season this past weekend, taking individual gold at the Disney Cross Country Classic after completing the 8K course in 25:07.90. He paced the Rattlers, all five of whom finished in the top eight.
Mitei (Jr., Eldoret, Kenya) turned in a weekend-best time of 18:01.20 at the Disney Cross Country Classic, finishing second overall and highest among runners scored for the team standings. She paced the third-place runner by over 12 seconds, leading the Lady Rattlers to a third-place effort.

Anija Addison (CSU) came in ninth at the Delaware State Pre-Conference Run.
Janee Quailes (CSU) finished third in the Delaware State Pre-Conference Run, running a 22:59.10.
Lananda Correia (DSU) ran a 22:35.50 to finish second in the Delaware State Pre-Conference Run.
Caleb Giles (DSU) came in third the Delaware State Pre-Conference Run with a time of 30:24.00.
John Akakeya (MDES) ran a 30:25.80 to finish fourth at the Delaware State Pre-Conference Run.
Mercy Chemutai (MDES) won her second collegiate meet, taking gold in the Delaware State Pre-Conference Run with a time of 18:49.40.
G’Jasmyne Butler (NCAT) won the HBCU Challenge with a time of 18:52.20.
Morris Kimble (NCAT) ran a 25:37.50 on the 8K course to finish second in the HBCU Challenge.
Abbas Abbkar (SSU) ran a 27:15.10 to finish ninth in the Charleston Classic.
Tyler Duncan (SCSU) came in 10th in the Charleston Classic after completing the 8K course in 27:16.40.
