NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 30, 2018—Norfolk State senior Briana Gardner was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Gardner (5-9, Sr., Stone Mountain, Ga.) posted the sixth-highest individual average at the Red Flash Invitational hosted by St. Francis (Pa.) this past weekend, racking up a 202.8 pinfall in a tournament that featured two nationally-ranked teams. In five traditional games, Gardner cracked the 200-pin mark four times, including a weekend-best 232 against Medaille.
Other Top Performers
Aushia McLean (CSU) had a high score of 186 this past weekend in the Red Flash Invitational, averaging 157.0 pins in traditional play.
Keondra Eaton (FAMU) averaged 181.6 pins in the FAMU Invitational, bowling a weekend-best 208 against Bethune-Cookman.
Alyssa Berke (MSU) bowled a 234 against Long Island-Post and Mount Aloysius in the Red Flash Invitational.
