Morgan State senior Lucas Krusinski was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, with
teammate Sebastian Lopez earning Rookie of the Week honors, the conference office announced.
Krusinski (6-1, 161, Sr., Freyming-Merlebach, France) defeated La Salle’s Tomas Christian 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles position on Saturday as the Bears picked up their first win of the season. He also dropped a hard-fought doubles match with partner Sebastian Lopez, 7-5, and against Temple, Krusinski hung tough in a 7-5, 6-3 loss to Temple’s Juan Araoz.
Lopez (6-3, 170, Fr., Bogota, Colombia) picked up a pair of wins for the Bears this past week. He defeated Temple’s Uladzimir Dorash in the No. 4 singles position 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 to earn Morgan State’s point in that match, before turning in a 6-4, 6-4 win over La Salle’s Connor Merrill as the Bears notched their first win of the season.
