INDIANAPOLIS, May 4, 2017—Augusta University, off winning its third straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men's golf championship, will compete in the NCAA Regional in West Lafayette, Ind. Hosted by Purdue University.
That tournament will take place Monday through Wednesday, May 15-17.
The Jaguars are one of six teams in the 13-team regional to earn an automatic bid; they won the MEAC title at the Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Ga. back on April 20-22 with a three-day score of 821. Augusta claimed the top four spots on the individual leaderboard, led by Emmanuel Kountakis' 15-under par.
The low five teams and the low individual at regionals will advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships, which will be held May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
