BATON ROUGE, La.—The University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Jacqueline Rhoda advanced all the way to the April 22 semifinals at the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Singles Championship before her amazing run ended.
The sophomore fell to Webber International’s Taylor Bulthuis 233-213 in the one-game winner advance format of the semifinals and finals which were taped for television.
Bulthuis was defeated by Wichita State's Sydney Brummett in the finals.
Rhoda was the only member of the Hawks to qualify to compete in the individual championships. She did so back on March 10 when she averaged a 205.3 over six traditional games at the Sectional qualifier in Allentown, Pa.
The women's show will be televised May 2 at 8 p.m. Eastern, and the men's final will air May 9 at 8 p.m. Eastern.
