Bethune-Cookman freshman Ryan Jackson was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Morgan State’s Amy Begg earned Pitcher of the Week honors, while Jamesia Stoudamire, of Florida A&M, was named Rookie of the Week.
Jackson (INF, 5-6, Fr., Chino Hills, Calif.) led the Wildcats at the Hatter Classic with a .714 batting average over five games. She finished with two home runs, including her first collegiate grand slam in a 13-5 win over Cornell, and eight RBI. Defensively, she recorded nine putouts and seven assists at second base.
Begg (P, 6-2, Jr., Christchurch, New Zealand) posted a 0.95 ERA in four games at the UMBC First Pitch Kickoff Classic. She went 2-1 and recorded one save in 22.0 innings. She fanned a career-high 11 strikeouts in a 6-2 complete-game victory against UMBC. Begg also earned her first save of the season, allowing just one run on two hits.
Stoudamire (INF, 5-9, Fr., Lake Wales, Fla.) went 6-for-12 behind the plate in four games against Troy and Mercer. She hit two home runs in a doubleheader against Mercer. She also stole two bases and drew two walks.

Taylor Sherritt (B-CU) batted .636 and fielded at a perfect percentage, with 10 putouts and one assist, at the Hatter Classic.
Madison Didion (CSU) tossed a complete game and tied a season-high five strikeouts against Lafayette.
Megan Narvaez (CSU) hit her first career home run in the victory over Lafayette.
Cloe’ Ochoa (CSU) went 3-for-3 at the plate, with a season-high three hits and one RBI against Marist.
Toni Anderson (FAMU) belted a two-run home run to give Florida A&M a 2-0 lead over Troy.
Kenya Pereira (FAMU) pitched a complete game, against Troy, allowing just two hits in the final six innings of the win.
Megan Barfield (NSU) drove in a team-high two runs against Campbell.
Kylee Lopez (NSU) recorded her first home run of the season against Campbell.
Megan Prezslawski (NSU) pitched a complete game, against Appalachian State, allowing just one earned run.
Zadia Davis (NCAT) led the team from the plate, against Alabama State and Loyola, with a 2-for-4 outing at the Alabama State Tournament.
