Florida A&M senior Amber Fullwood was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Morgan State’s Amy Begg and Florida A&M’s Kenya Pereira earned Co-Pitcher of the Week honors, while Desiree Moreno, of Delaware State, and Jamesia Stoudemire, of Florida A&M were named Co-Rookies of the Week.
Fullwood (3B, 5-5, Sr., Land O’ Lakes, Fla.) batted .571 in a three-game sweep of South Carolina State. She led the Rattlers in the series with eight hits, including one home run, and 11 RBI. Fullwood also hit for the cycle in the series with a pair of doubles and a triple. Defensively, Fullwood registered one putout and seven assists at third base.
Begg (P, 6-2, Jr., Christchurch, New Zealand) went 3-0 with 23 strikeouts and a 1.69 ERA in a series sweep of Howard. She pitched 6.2 innings in a shutout victory, with 11 strikeouts. Begg held Howard to a .116 average during the series and has won five consecutive games.
Pereira (RHP, 5-3, Jr., Kissimmee, Fla.) recorded a 1.31 ERA in a win over South Carolina State. She allowed just one run on one hit in 5.1 innings pitched. Pereira also struck out 13 batters in the victory.
Moreno (C, 5-6, Fr., Carson, Calif.) registered a .500 batting average in five games last week. She went 6-for-10 with one home run, three doubles, one triple and eight RBI in a series sweep of Coppin State. Moreno led the Hornets in two games against Villanova, with one run on two hits.
Stoudemire (SS, 5-9, Fr., Lake Wales, Fla.) went 6-for-11 at the plate in three wins over South Carolina State. She recorded two runs on three hits, with one walk and two stolen bases, in the 20-3 victory. Stoudemire finished the weekend with a .545 average, six runs, two RBI, two doubles, three walks and five stolen bases.

Kimberly Evans (CSU) had a season-high three hits, with two runs scored, against Delaware State.

Vanessa Washington (DSU) belted two home runs in a 12-4 victory over Coppin State.
Allison Anderson (MDES) hit her first career home run against Norfolk State.
Adrienne Guerra (MDES) notched a season-high 10 strikeouts, in 7.0 innings, in a win over Norfolk State.
Jillian Nobles (NCAT) went 5-for-9 at the plate, with one run scored and one RBI, in a double-header victory against Bethune-Cookman.
Ava Dolan (NCCU) belted a two-run home run to give the Eagles the lead over Savannah State.
Lauren Sitterson (NCCU) hit her first career home run in the 7-0 win over Savannah State.
Dominique Wilson (NCCU) earned a 0.39 ERA, in 18.0 innings, in a three-game sweep of Savannah State while striking out 20 batters in five games total.
Meaghan Barfield (NSU) cut the Spartans’ deficit in half with a solo home run against Maryland Eastern Shore while compiling seven assists in the opening game of a doubleheader versus Eastern Shore.
Hunter Halford (NSU) struck out 18 batters in three games last week with a career-high 10 versus Maryland Eastern Shore. Also hit two home runs with four RBI.
