NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 5, 2017—Maryland Eastern Shore junior Alexandra Hernandez was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Hernandez (5-3, Jr., Maracaibo, Venezuela) was the top individual at the MEAC Northern Division #2 meet this past weekend, averaging 211.5 pins in traditional play. She bowled a weekend-best 247 against Coppin State, and her 221 against Delaware State helped hand the Hornets their only loss of the weekend. With Hernandez leading the way, Maryland Eastern Shore was 6-2 for the weekend.
Other Top Performers
Nia Turner (CSU) was sixth in the individual rankings of the MEAC Northern Division #2 meet with an average of 172.5.
Elizabeth Burkholder (DSU) averaged 206.8 pins for the weekend, bowing a 230 against Morgan State.
Keondra Eaton (FAMU) bowled a 212 against Norfolk State and averaged 200.3 pins for the weekend.
T’ea Lewis (HOW) averaged 169.3 pins, ranking ninth in the MEAC Northern Division #2 meet’s individual standings.
Ana Olaya (NCAT) averaged 191 pins at the MEAC Southern Division #2 meet to lead the Aggies.
Alexa Rodriguez (NSU) bowled a 225 against Florida A&M and averaged 184.7 pins for the weekend.
