NORFOLK, Va. - Florida A&M University's Marcus Barham has been selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Hampton University’s Trevond Barnes was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Howard's R.J. Cole earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Barham averaged 25.5 points over a two-game span last week and shot 63 percent (19-of-30) from the field. He was just as hot from the three-point line as he connected on 12-of-20 treys while also distributing 4.5 assists per contest. Against North Florida on Monday night, Barham scored 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting while draining five treys along with seven assists and three rebounds. On Saturday, Dec. 9, Barham had a 21-point effort at Mercer which included seven three-pointers.
Cole averaged 16 points, seven assists, four steals and three rebounds over the past week. He scored 17 points with eight assists at Georgetown followed by a 15-point, six-assist, five-rebound performance at American on Saturday.
Barnes averaged seven rebounds, two blocks and a steal over Hampton's past two games. Versus Coastal Carolina, Barnes posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds along with two blocks and a steal. He returned to the court at Missouri State two days later and blocked two shots with a steal.

Karonn Davis (Coppin State) averaged 12 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in contests against Navy and Connecticut.
Raasean Davis (North Carolina Central) led the Eagles in scoring (18.5) and rebounding (8.5) while tying his career-high with 21 points at George Mason.
Kalin Fisher (Hampton) averaged 22 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists highlighted by a career-high 29-point performance against Coastal Carolina.
Derrik Jammerson Jr. (Norfolk State) secured career-highs of 14 points and three steals against Loyola-Chicago.
Malik Maitland (Bethune-Cookman) set season-highs with his 22-point performance against Boston University while shooting over 60 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc.
Lamar Morgan (Coppin State) averaged 18 points and 4.5 rebounds highlighted by a career-high 30-point performance against Connecticut.
Jordan Perkins (North Carolina Central) averaged six assists and four rebounds in two games played.
Pablo Rivas (North Carolina Central) averaged 13 points, 6.5 rebounds on the road at George Mason and Grand Canyon.
Steven Whitley (Norfolk State) scored 10 points and tied a career-high with four steals versus Loyola-Chicago last week.
Charles Williams (Howard) averaged 23 points and 5.5 rebounds which was highlighted by a 28-point performance against Georgetown.
