Maryland Eastern Shore Sweeps Coppin, Still Unbeaten in MEAC

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Maryland Eastern Shore swept through Coppin State on Thursday night (25-16, 25-17, 25-13) to remain undefeated in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play heading into Friday’s battle at Morgan State.

The Shore (17-6, 4-0 MEAC) was led by the three-pronged attack of Lucia Babic, Rachel Kayongo and Iva Vujosevic.

Babic led all players with 13 kills (.545 attack percentage) and added eight digs and an ace.

Kayongo, had a game-high 12 digs to go along with 10 kills, while Vijosevic also added 10 kills and an ace.

Ivana Blazevic picked up 33 assists.

Eastern Shore sported a 41 percent attack percentage in the first set, 37 in the second and 27 in the third as they closed things out. The Hawks had eight attack errors to Coppin’s 15.
