MOBILE, Ala. – The FAMU Women’s Volleyball team swept their two Friday matches in the Jaguar Volleyball Invitational, bouncing FIU and Southeastern Louisiana by identical 3-1 scores.
The Lady Rattlers (2-3) won their first bout over FIU, 25-20, 8-25, 25-23, 25-22, powered by newcomers Maria Yvette Garcia with 14 kills and six digs, and Nicole Abreu with 12 kills and 13 digs.
Nair Canessa had eight kills and four blocks, while Valentina Carrasco had a team-high 15 digs, with Elena Dimitrova dishing out a season high 40 assists.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — For the second straight night the Hawks volleyball team struggled to find their groove, and coupled with an efficient charge by the visiting Midshipmen, Maryland Eastern Shore fell in straight sets to the United States Naval Academy (13-25, 14-25, 19-25) on Saturday night in Princess Anne.
Navy improves to 3-1 with the win and the Hawks fall to 4-2.
Maryland Eastern Shore had trouble on the attack throughout the match, but senior Mere Serea was able to supply six kills against two errors on 10 attempts for a 40% success rate. Freshman Ivana Blazevic led with 17 assists and sophomore Zuzana Ondruskova tallied nine digs. Sophomore Marta Klafuric posted three block assists.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Hampton University volleyball team opened action in the Liberty Invitational on Friday afternoon as they dropped a 3-0 decision to East Tennessee State 25-20, 25-20, 25-16 at the Vines Center.
Ravyn Richardson set a career-high for kills with nine, while Kyndall Nicholas had seven kills and an attack percentage of nearly .400. Brianna Lilly had 28 assists.

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Savannah State University volleyball team (0-7) won the third set against host Georgia Southern University (3-3), but fell to the Eagles 3-1 (9-25, 20-25, 25-23, 14-25) and fell to Jacksonville State University (2-5) 3-0 (15-25, 13-25, 12-25) Friday at the Bash in the ‘Boro in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Freshman outside hitter Dominic Ingraham led the Lady Tigers with 18 kills in both matches and with six blocks, while senior middle blocker Gabrielle Nathaniel added 12 kills and 12 digs. Senior setter Caitlynn Masoe added 11 kills and 19 assists, while junior setter Alee Quint led the team with 35 assists and added 12 digs. Senior libero Alexis Washington led the team with 18 digs in two matches.
