MEAC ANNOUNCES WEEKLY VOLLEYBALL HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. Howard junior Khaila Donaldson was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Teammates Morgan Marlbrough and Tamia Dockery earned Defensive Specialist and Setter of the Week honors, respectively. Dominique Madarang, of Coppin State, was named Rookie of the Week.

Donaldson (OH, 5-11, Jr., Vernon Hills, Ill.) finished the Penn Invitational with 69 kills, 26 digs and five service aces. She notched a double-double of 19 kills and 10 digs in a win over George Mason, while capturing the most valuable player honors.

Madarang (S, 5-6, Fr., Riverside, Calif.) led the team with 49 assists (6.12 per set) at the Colonial Volleyball Classic. She received all-tournament honors after contributing 23 digs, three kills and one service ace.

Marlbrough (LB, 5-4, Sr., Mandeville, La.) averaged 4.43 digs per set, in four matches, at the Penn Invitational. She also helped Howard hold Lafayette to .008 hitting percentage in a 3-1 victory.

Dockery (S, 5-8, So., Richmond, Texas) totaled 145 assists, 38 digs, 10 kills and one service ace at the Penn Invitational. She recorded a double-double of 35 assists and 12 digs in a win over Bucknell, and was named to the all-tournament team.

 

Other Top Performers

Nicole Abreu (FAMU) totaled 26 kills, 14 digs, four total blocks, two assists and one service ace at the Hilton-Tallahassee Seminole Tournament.

Jill Aquino (NSU) finished with 10 digs, 46 assists, and three service aces at the Elon Phoenix Classic.

Ivana Blazevic (MDES) earned Cougar Challenge All-Tournament honors with nine kills, four blocks, 44 assists, three service aces and 18 digs.

Melvina Brown (NSU) selected to the Elon Phoenix Classic All-Tournament team after posting eight assists and 49 digs.

Samara Brown (NCAT) totaled 60 kills, including 16 in a win over Hampton, in four matches.

Valentina Carrasco (FAMU) totaled 69 digs, including 29 against UALR, at the Hilton-Tallahassee Seminole Tournament.

Casey Curran (NCCU) posted a double-double of 10 kills and 13 digs in a 3-1 victory over Alabama A&M.

T’Keyah Davis (NCAT) tallied 10 digs and four service aces in three matches.

Elena Dimitrova (FAMU) recorded 80 assists, including 30 against UALR, nine digs, three service aces and two total blocks at the Hilton-Tallahassee Seminole Tournament.

Kayla Finnerty (NCAT) notched a season-best 24 assists against Radford at the Spartan-Aggie Invitational.

Maria Yvette Garcia (FAMU) tallied 18 kills, six digs, four service aces and one total block at the Hilton-Tallahassee Seminole Tournament.

Leila Haynesworth (NCAT) registered six kills, 13 digs and one service ace, in five sets against Radford.

Dominique Ingram (SSU) recorded a .471 hitting percentage, with eight kills, against Troy.

Bailee Jackson (CSU) posted a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs against Western Carolina.

Jessica Johnson (NSU) notched a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs against Elon.

Micah Leavell (HAM) registered a season-high 11 kills and two assists against Radford at the Spartan-Aggie Invitational.

Caitlynn Masoe (SSU) tallied 15 digs, 30 assists and 19 kills in three matches at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup Invitational.

Keyndall Nicholas (HAM) posted 13 kills, two total blocks and one service ace, while be named to the Spartan-Aggie Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Paige Phillips (NCCU) matched a career-high 43 assists against Alabama A&M at the UNC Asheville Invitational.

Glorines Rosado (CSU) complied one kill, four assists, three service aces and 52 digs in three matches.

Mere Serea (MDES) led the team with seven blocks against George Washington.

Alexis Washington (SSU) selected to the ISTAP Collegiate Cup Invitational All-Tournament team after posting a team-high 34 digs and two service aces in three matches.
