PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Howard volleyball team swept the Penn Invitational after tallying a pair of wins on its final day. The Bison started with a 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-13, 25-11) triumph over Lafayette before downing Bucknell in three sets (25-17, 25-22, 28-26) at the Palestra.
The Bison’s four victories over the weekend moved them to 8-3 overall. The team only dropped two sets and it was also the second tournament that Howard went undefeated in this season.
Junior Khaila Donaldson was named tournament MVP for the second time this year. She was joined on the All-Tournament Team by sophomore Tamia Dockery.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Sophomore Whitney White supplied the North Carolina Central University volleyball team with 8.5 points to highlight play for the Lady Eagles in a 3-0 loss to Stetson University in the UNC Asheville Invitational Saturday afternoon.
After surviving the first set, the Hatters (2-8) were able to complete the straight-set victory by scores of 25-23, 25-15 and 25-16. NCCU (1-5) was unable to win two consecutive matches after defeating Alabama A&M University in the morning session.

PULLMAN, Wash. — In their final match at Washington State’s Cougar Challenge, Maryland Eastern Shore were defeated by the George Washington Colonials (13-25, 20-25, 20-25) at Bohler Gymnasium Saturday morning. The Hawks dropped their third straight for an overall record of 7-5.
Sophomore Lucia Babic led the Hawks with eight kills while converting one-third of her attacks. Freshman Ivana Blazevic supplied 16 assists and eight digs, both team highs. Sophomore Koya Sowells totaled five digs while senior Mere Serea (Suva, Fiji) led The Shore with six block participations.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Hampton University volleyball team finished play on Saturday in the Spartan-Aggie Invitational as they lost a pair of 3-0 decisions to Radford and UNC Greensboro.
Earning All-Tournament honors this weekend was Kyndall Nicholas after a weekend attack percentage of .367, 13 kills, one ace and two blocks.. With the two losses today, Hampton falls to 0-8 on the year, while Radford went to 7-2 and UNC Greensboro is now 4-5.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Senior setter Caitlynn Masoe and senior libero Alexis Washington were named on the All-Tournament at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup Invitational Saturday as Savannah State University (0-11) dropped both matches to host Alabama State 3-0 (24-26, 17-25, 25-27) and to Troy 3-1 (25-20, 17-25, 19-25, 23-25).
Masoe recorded 19 kills, 30 assists, six service aces and 15 digs in the three matches during the tournment, while Washington led the team with 34 digs and added two service aces.
