NORFOLK, Va. — Howard’s Olubunmi Okunade was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Teammates Morgan Marlbrough and Tamia Dockery earned Defensive Specialist of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively. Ivana Blazevic, of Maryland Eastern Shore, was named Rookie of the Week.
Okunade (MB, 5-10, So., Houston, Texas) posted 26 kills, two digs and 16 blocks, in three wins over George Mason, Georgetown and American, at the District of Columbia Challenge. She tied a match-high with 10 total blocks against American, while being named to the All-Tournament team.
Blazevic (S, 6-1, Fr., Zagreb, Croatia) finished with seven kills, 16 digs, 45 assists and five service aces in four matches at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup. She hit .429, with four kills and four digs, in a 3-0 win over Alabama A&M.
Marlbrough (LB, 5-4, Sr., Mandeville, La.) averaged 4.5 digs per set, in three wins, at the District of Columbia Challenge. She also helped Howard hold George Mason to a .150 hitting percentage in a 3-0 victory.
Dockery (S, 5-8, So., Richmond, Texas) totaled 122 assists, 29 digs, eight kills and three service aces at the District of Columbia Challenge. She registered a double-double of 40 assists and 12 digs against Georgetown and was named to the All-Tournament team.

Samara Brown (NCAT) totaled 46 kills, 24 digs, 12 assists and 10 service aces at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup.
