SAVANNAH, Ga. - During Savannah State University’s 188th commencement ceremony which was held Saturday, May 7, at Theodore A. Wright Stadium 29 current and former SSU student-athletes received their degrees.
Among those student-athletes graduating were nine football players, seven baseball players, five track and field athletes, three softball players and one athlete each from women’s golf, women’s tennis, volleyball, men’s basketball and cheerleading.
One athlete earned a master’s degree while 28 received undergraduate degrees.
Of the 28 undergraduate degrees issues, 18 were honor graduates with nine graduating cum laude, five graduating magna cum laude and four graduating summa cum laude.
All five track athletes graduated with honors.
