UMES' Seraus Receives All-Tournament Honors at USBC?s

WICHITA, Kan. — Another accolade was added to the résumé of Maryland Eastern Shore senior bowler Thashaina Seraus on Saturday, when she was named to the All-Tournament Team at the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships in Wichita this past week.

Seraus, just as she had all season long, anchored the Hawks during the tournament. After earning a sixth place seed and facing an early elimination, her team rallied to win four straight matches and reach the semifinals of the tournament. Several strong performances were capped out by strikes from Seraus.

The senior was one of five bowlers to be honored in the tournament. In addition to this honor, Seraus won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Year award and a place on the All-Tournament Team at the MEAC Championships. She was also named the runner up for the International Bowling Media Association’s (IBMA) Bowler of the Year award.

Three Hawks have previously claimed All-Tournament Team honors at the Intercollegiate Team Championships.  Maria Rodriguez (2011), Anggie Ramirez (2013) and T’nia Falbo (2013) with Falbo also winning the Chris Stoehr award in 2013.
