NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State sophomore Antonio Pejic and Morgan State freshman Jeremy Field were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Co-Athletes of the Week, while NSU senior Andrea Macchiavello garnered the Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honor, the conference announced today. Teammates Benedikt Henning and Marta Gomar earned Men’s and Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week honors.
Pejic (So., Dubrovnik, Croatia) picked up one win at the No. 3 singles position, against Morgan State. He notched a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Evan Ward.
Field (Fr., Seyssinet-Pariset, France) registered three singles victories at the No. 2 position against Coppin State, Norfolk State and Hampton. He rallied against Norfolk State’s Dan Dumitrascu for a three-set victory, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3.
Macchiavello (Sr., Boca Raton, Fla.) posted a 5-3 mark, in singles and doubles action, against Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State and North Carolina Central. She registered a 6-0, 6-0 win over Crystal Crook of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Henning (Fr., Bad Hersfeld, Germany) earned one win over Morgan State’s Treajh Ferguson. He rallied for a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) victory at the No. 1 singles position.
Gomar (Fr., Valencia, Spain) won four matches, in singles and doubles play, against Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State and North Carolina Central. She defeated Kayla Price, of Morgan State, in the No. 3 singles spot.

Matthew Foster-Estwick (HAM) went 2-0 in singles action, at the No. 1 spot, against Delaware and Morgan State.
Chloe Kabamba (MSU) recorded two doubles victories, at the No. 2 position, against Norfolk State and Hampton.
Mariam Mitaishvii (HAM) defeated Chloe Kabamba, of Morgan State, at the No. 1 singles spot.
Cherise Slocombe (HAM) posted a straight-sets victory over Maryland Eastern Shore at the No. 2 singles position.
Danielle Thompson (MSU) picked up three wins, in singles and doubles play, against Hampton and Norfolk State.
