Coppin State Soars Past Delaware State
DOVER, Del.—Juniors Joshua Treadwell and Terry Harris Jr., both collected double-doubles as the Coppin State men's basketball team closed the 2015-16 regular season with a 72-62 road win over Delaware State Thursday, March 3 in Memorial Hall Gym.
Harris Jr., recorded his ninth double-double of the season finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He added two assists, two blocks and a steal in 40 minutes of game action.
Treadwell scored 12 points and 12 rebounds for his first double-double of his Coppin State career. He tied a team best with three assists and added one steal in 30 minutes on the floor.
Junior Christian Kessee tallied a game high 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field, with 20 of his points coming in the first half. He added two assists, a rebound and a steal in 40 minutes.
James Sylvester led the Eagles bench with seven points, three rebounds, one assist and a steal.
Blake Simpson compiled eight rebounds for Coppin State. He chipped in three points, one steal and one block.
Keith Shivers led the Eagles with three steals, five points, three assists and two rebounds.
Devin Morgan led Delaware State with 17 points and two assists. DeAndre Haywood added 13 points and six rebounds for the Hornets.

Hawks Build Big Lead, Outlast Morgan State
BALTIMORE Md. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore led by as many as 18 points early in the second half at Morgan State and held on to win 80-71 despite a late run my the Bears.
Bakari Copeland paced the Hawks 10-21 (7-9 MEAC) with a game-high 23 points to go with six rebounds and four assists, while Dominique Elliott chipped in 14 points and nine boards in just 27 minutes.
With Elliott in early foul trouble after the break, Eastern Shore turned to freshman Isaac Taylor who scored a career-high 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds on the night.
Derrico Peck added nine points and five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals, while Ryan Andino had 11 points including three from behind the arc.

Pirates Fall to Spartans in Regular Season Finale
NORFOLK, Va.—Already assured of the top seed in next week’s MEAC Tournament, the Hampton University men’s basketball team lost its regular season finale Thursday night in Echols Hall, falling to Norfolk State 83-63.
The Pirates will enter the tournament 18-10 overall and 13-3 in MEAC play.
Reginald Johnson, Jr. led three Pirates in double figures with 14 points, despite shooting 3-for-17 from the floor. Lawrence Cooks added 13 points and a team-high three assists, while Dionte Adams added 10 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
The Pirates struggled from the floor, shooting just 31.1-percent (19-for-61) for the game. Hampton made three of 17 3-pointers (17.6-percent) and went 22-for-32 (68.8-percent) from the free throw line.
Norfolk State (16-15, 12-4 MEAC) shot 51.0-percent (26-for-51) from the floor and hit 12 of its 24 3-pointers. The Spartans were also 19-for-26 (73.1-percent) at the free throw line.

NCCU Falls in Shootout with North Carolina A&T State
GREENSBORO, N.C.—North Carolina Central University locked into a long-range battle with North Carolina A&T as 23 total three-pointers rained into the bucket, but the Aggies came away with a late 93-87 win at the Corbett Sports Center on Thursday, March 3.
Dante Holmes came alive in the second act as well with 16 points on his way to a team-high 21 points. Holmes and Madison combined to drill 10 of 15 three pointers.
Sam Hunt finished with a game high 29 points, and Bruce Beckford added 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Patrick Cole added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Kyle Benton chipped in nine points and five rebounds.
