Morgan State Dispatches Mount Saint Mary's

EMMITSBURG, Md. -- Wednesday's match not only improved the Bears' record to 6-9 overall, but it also extended the Bears to its first 3-game winning streak since 2013. 

The Mountaineers (7-7) claimed the doubles point as Austin Blake and Mateo DeSomocurcio earned a 6-2 victory over Lucas Krusinski at the top flight and Louis Tonon and Brandon Wortkotter won 6-3 over Jeremy Field and Arjun Ramakrishnan at No. 2. Treajh Ferguson paired with Evan Ward to drop Darren Mast and Peter Landis by a 6-3 margin at No. 3 doubles.

The Bears registered four wins in singles action and were led by Jeremy Field who posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory against DeSomocurico at No. 2. Ward earned a 6-3, 6-2 decision against Mast at No. 4, Wortkotter lost, 6-4, 6-2, to Ramakrishnan at No. 5 and Krusinski completed a 6-0, 6-2 win against Landis at the sixth flight.

The Bears return to non-conference action when they travel to face the University of Maryland Baltimore County on Friday, April 1. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
