MEAC COMPLETES DAY TWO OF 2016 BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP

CHESAPEAKE, Va.  - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) completed the second day of the 2016 MEAC Bowling Championship at the AMF Chesapeake Lanes in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Top-seeded Delaware State bowled their way into the championship match, defeating No. 8 Florida A&M (4-1), No. 5 Bethune-Cookman (4-2) and No. 4 Howard (4-2) to grab a spot into the title match. The Lady Hornets are looking for their third MEAC Tournament championship and first since 2010.

No. 6 Norfolk State rolled its way into the final by defeating No. 3 North Carolina A&T State (4-1) in the opening round and edging No. 7 Morgan State (4-3). The Spartans fell to No. 2 Maryland Eastern Shore (4-3), before upsetting the three-time defending tournament champions in a rematch (4-2) in a final elimination game of the day. Norfolk State reaches the final for the second straight season and seeks its second overall tournament title and first since 2012.

The 2016 MEAC Bowling Championship wraps up on tomorrow with the championship final at noon. The championship match will be televised in a tape-delayed format and will air on ESPNU on Sunday, April 3 at 11:00 p.m.
