DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- After falling to ASA College in the morning in an exhibition match, both Bethune-Cookman tennis rallied to defeat Mount St. Mary's Tuesday afternoon.
The Wildcat men (3-6) recovered from a 4-1 setback and posted a 4-2 victory. Walid Gtari was the lone Wildcat to register a win in both matches.
Bethune-Cookman dropped the doubles point against Mount St. Mary's (4-4) but Gtari, Alvari Barrera and Greg Almeida registered quick victory to set the stage for Alexander Chepik to clinch the match at No. 1 singles, which he did with a service ace on match point in the second set tiebreaker.
The Lady Wildcats (3-6) won their second match in their last three outings with a 6-1 victory over Mt. St. Mary's. Alejandra Vidal won her fourth straight singles match to pace the Bethune-Cookman victory.
