NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State’s Kayla McNair was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Savannah State’s Cortni Jones earned Rookie of the Week, while teammate Amanda Hallman was named Pitcher of the Week.
McNair (1B, 5-5, Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.) went 4-of-13 in seven games, with one run scored, seven RBIs, one double and one triple. She also registered 42 putouts with no errors for the week.
Jones (3B, 5-5, Fr., Snellville, Ga.) batted .667 in a doubleheader sweep over Maryland Eastern Shore, with two runs scored, five RBIs and one home run. She recorded a 1.667 slugging percentage and a .333 on-base percentage in both games.
Hallman (P, 5-8, Jr., Kennesaw, Ga.) pitched a complete-game victory over Maryland Eastern Shore. She surrendered one earned run and fanned six batters, in seven innings.

Audrianna Alvarez (MSU) finished with three earned runs, including one home run, with four RBIs, in four games.
Allison Anderson (UMES) went 3-for-6, with two RBIs and one double, in two games against Savannah State.
Sabrina Anguiano (B-CU) recorded nine strikeouts, with seven looking, in 13.3 innings against George Mason and UT Martin.
Shelby DesChamps (NSU) batted .364 (4-of-11), scoring three runs, in six games.
Adrienne Guerra (UMES) posted a 2.33 ERA in six innings pitched, allowing two earned runs and striking out two, against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Megan Przeslawski (NSU) finished with 10 strikeouts in 17.1 innings, against Radford, Liberty, Rhode Island, La Salle and Sacred Heart.
Danielle Smith (CSU) posted a .882 slugging percentage, with three doubles and one triple, in six games.
Vanessa Washington (DSU) averaged .417 at the plate, with two home runs and six RBIs, at the N.C. State DoubleTree RDU Challenge.
Ieasha Waters (B-CU) went 1-for-3, including one home run and one RBI, in the 8-1 win over George Mason.
Damali Young (MSU) batted .417 (5-of-12) and stole six bases, at the UMBC Spring Classic.
